Berlin, Germany. August 15-17, 2003.

I wanted to visit Germany since I was a child. There was a long weekend in Poland, due to Assumption of the Virgin Mary religious holiday, so I decided to use those several days for a journey to Berlin and Potsdam. It was my first and I hope not last trip to Germany.
Capital of Germany was really nice, but I imagined it in some other way. Anyway, there are plenty of interesting palaces, churches, historical buildings in Berlin and Potsdam, not to mention famous museums on the Museum Island of Berlin. I was mainly interested in the last decades of history of this city, so it was nice to see the Reichstag, Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate and other places connected with the history of WWII, Cold War and the former GDR. Most interesting pictures you can see here. I was really impressed by the fact, that Germans take care of Soviet Soldier monuments and they have not even erase inscription on the walls of the Reichstag, made by our soldiers after they took it by storm at 1945.
There is a little story about this trip in Russian, in which I described my impressions. You can read it here.
