Though I have been in California several times already, I never had a chance to visit San Diego before. A couple of my friends are from the area and they always spoke of this city in superlative terms. Good climate, nice neighborhoods, comfortable life. Last January, I finally had an opportunity to fly there and see it with my own eyes. San Diego is indeed quite an interesting place to visit with a lot of activities to do and sights to see. Things which I enjoyed the most were Gaslamp Quarter, Balboa Park, Downtown, and the USS Midway and Maritime Museums.
San Diego and the surrounding areas also offer a lot of nice locations for sunset, wildlife, and urban photography. Most notable were La Jolla with its beaches and sea lion coves, Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, Mount Soledad, Point Loma with its Lighthouse and Cabrillo National Monument, as well as Coronado Island with its bridge and seaside promenades.
